(Below are job descriptions, start time and numbers needed).

Date: Saturday, December 1st
Time: 2:00 p.m.

NOTE: The Oakland Holiday Parade takes place RAIN or SHINE.

NOTE: All volunteers must wear black pants. Volunteer sweatshirts will be provided for a uniform look down the parade route.

Volunteers are needed until conclusion of the parade.

BALLOON HANDLERS 11:30 a.m. 400 + needed
Must be 18 and older (or a senior in high school) to be part of a team of 10 -34 individuals. Adults may be accompanied by a child that walks with them. (Approx. 1 mile). Bring gloves to protect your hands. Training will be provided the day of the event. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

BANNER & SIGN CARRIERS 11:30 a.m. 100+ needed
Teams of 2 carry banners. Signs are carried by individuals wearing elf costumes (costumes provided).

Note: Parents and children could volunteer here as a team of banner carriers. Requirement: Must be able to walk 1 mile.

LOGISTICS TEAM
Special training provided by parade director the week prior to parade.

Staging, 11:00 a.m. 20 needed
(help with set up and placement of units)
Street Marshals, 11:00 a.m. 25 needed
(help with flow of parade, report problems)
De-staging, 1:30 p.m. 20 needed
(help deflate balloons, collect banners)

REGISTRATION TEAM - 10:00 a.m. 20 needed
(help to pre-register volunteers by telephone prior to parade. On December 2nd - confirm assignments, distribute t-shirts and refreshments).
